Mañana Villa

Mañana is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath villa on the southeast coast of Anguilla with views of St. Martin, St. Bart’s, Statia, and on a clear day St. Kitts/Nevis.  Built in 2005 it is a traditional West Indian design utilizing ample amounts of Anguilla stone and gingerbread trim in its architectural features. Doors and windows are made of South American red cedar and are heavily constructed to withstand hurricane force winds.  In fact, the villa has been through 4 major hurricanes including Irma sustaining virtually no damage to the structure.

There is a master bedroom on one side of the living area with ensuite bath, walk in closet and wooden doors to the pool deck.  On the other side of the living room and 2 bedrooms which share a bathroom.  One of the bedrooms has wooden doors leading to the pool deck.

Living area is comprised of sitting area with television, dining room table for 6 and kitchen.  3 sets of wooden doors open to the pool deck.

The property is completely enclosed by a handmade stone wall and fencing.  Gardens are planted with a variety of indigenous and tropical plants which create a beautiful setting that does not require excessive maintenance or water.

From an infrastructure perspective the villa is energy efficient and eco-friendly.  Electrical power is produced by a 8.2 kW solar pv system.  The villa is primarily “off the grid” with the exception of the electric oven/microwave.  The villa is still connected to local electric company so if need be, can transfer back to local electrical power. Sixteen lead acid batteries are adequate storage to get through the night hours.  Hot water, dryer and cook top are gas.  Water is provided by rain water collection into a 40,000 gallon cistern.
